Overview

Although identification of an optimal expression signature to distinguish two sample types is a dominant field in cancer research, clinical researchers often want to know the discrimination power of genes they picked. Here, we present the Signature Evaluation Tool (SET), a standalone Java application, as a flexible and easy-followed platform to evaluate user-defined signatures. SET can help to quickly narrow down candidate genes with good discrimination abilities. Besides, the visualization of the prediction strength (PS) for individual sample allows user to re-validate the signature’s capacities and offer individual prediction information that could be useful for clinically prognosis and clinical management decisions.

System Requirements
Java SE 6 is required for every platform. However we also provide a separate version (auto-detected, no table sorting) for Mac users to run in their Java 5.
